Discovering the Power of Bioacoustics: An Inspiring Journey from Curiosity to Conservation   A popular quote from the well-known book The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." The same thing happened to me just today. I am curious about the ocean and marine ecosystem interactions with human beings. Due to this curiosity, I completed my master's degree in zoology with a specialization in fishery and oceanography in 2016. For the last four years, I have been more focused on marine mammals and other marine megafauna and their fisheries interactions.   'खलील जिब्रान' समजून घेताना    काही गोष्टी, काही वाक्य आणि काही विचार फारच सरळ असतात. हे विचार इतके सरळ आणि सोपे असतात कि बहुधा त्यातील सहजतात समजणे सहजतेने बऱ्याच वेळा जमत नाही. गेल्या एक दशका पासून 'खलील जीब्रान' हे नाव मी ऐकलं असेल. बऱ्याच भारतीय तत्वज्ञ आणि इतिहासकार वाचत असताना हे नाव आणि या बाबत संदर्भ येत होते. परंतु इतके सहज विचार आणि वाक्य या व्यक्ती च्या नावा सोबत वाचले आहेत कि त्यात काही विशेष आहे असं मला वाटलं नाही.    साधारण वर्षाहुन अधिक काल लोटला असेल मी या ह्या लेखकाचा दृष्टिकोन आणि विचार अभिव्यक्ती समजून घेण्यासाठी 'खलील जिब्रानच्या उत्कृष्ट कथा' हे पुस्तक आणलं होतं. गंमत अशी एक छोटंसं पुस्तक कधी तरी वाचू म्हणून मी त्या सोबत जरा अंतर राखून ठेवलं होतं. परंतु गेल्या आठवड्यात जेव्हा मी बंगलोर-मुबंई हवाई प्रवास केला तेव्हा विमानतलावर काही तरी वाचायचं म्हूणन याची सुरवात केली. असं म्हटलं जात काही पदार्थ हे आवडतात किंवा प्रसिद्ध आहेत म्हणून पोटभर खाऊ नये तर त्याचा अदबीने आस्वाद घ्यावा. एक घास खाऊन चव जिभेवर अनुभव करून पुढील घास घ्यावा. कधी तरी अचानक
