The 6th of April, 2019, we all celebrated Gudi Padwa festival with great joy. But from the beginning of this new year, we have started to face many disasters from all fishing communities. The number of already decreasing fish seed stock in the sea, with ONGC being in the region of Gorai, Utan, Palghar, Vasai, the campaign for the exploration of oil reserves in the ocean and the binding on soiled fisheries, large scale development works such as the sea route ( Coastal Road).Whatever may be the reason, but it is framed today, that is the Fishery Society and our fishing. Earlier, we told many leaders and political parties our problems, but till now no questions have been received for them.Against the development work, we could never achieve a successful success. But there are so many examples of world-wide community-based conservation that a large number of forests, wetlands, slopes, or coastal creatures And with this effort, the local people could make a better alternative to the livelihood or to make available an even better way.

The best example of community-based conservation in India, such as Deewaryai ( secred groves) where a place can be used by locals and local people from the local community to the name of the forest of God, and the people can use that space properly.Today many development works are happening around the coast and Koliwade. But the information about specific coastal studies, marine life and other environmental factors, local Koliwade and its livelihood resources, fishing and its practices, laws related to the creek and the sea, and the science behind it are these things we  must be needed to know today.Today many development works are putting wounds on our stomach, but if we want to stop it, then it is necessary that the fishing we are doing should be built on the basis of modern science and research. The marine habitat and marine life in which fishing is done should be properly recorded. Our traditional talent and space should be noted in appropriate research magazines worldwide.

we must accept the embrace of sea conservation with the role of our traditional fishing.

  I have told you what I thought as an oceanograhy student and researcher, as well as a Sagarputra of this Koli community. In the next part of this article, I will explain to you some special examples of community-based culture.
